Functional Fitness is performing exercises that mimic everyday movements so that your body can perform daily activities such as walking, bending, lifting, climbing stairs - without pain, injury or discomfort. While using various muscles in the upper and lower body at the same time, functional fitness exercises also emphasize core stability.
More and more people are experiencing injuries, knee pain and back pain. Even people who are fit and exercise regularly can have muscle and postural imbalances.
Though functional exercise training may be especially beneficial for older adults to improve balance, agility and muscle strength, it is beneficial for everyone regardless of age.
